Loreal Richesse 9.01 Frosty Milkskake Hair Colour Review Billie Faiers colour

For a while now I have had a golden blonde colour in my hair. Because I am quite dark naturally and have red tones in my hair it can tend to go a bit yellowy.

Inspired by Billie Faiers from The Only Way Is Essex, as I regularly pop into Minnies in Brentwood, and as she has my eye and skin colouring as me I really wanted to go her fab Ash shade. See below how my blonde colour is more Golden and Billie’s is more Ashy.

I asked my hairdresser what sort of toner would be good for a more ‘whiter’ and ‘silvery’ tone on my hair. I bleach my hair myself and I would only recommend getting a hairdresser to use this toner on your hair if you haven’t done it before. I always use bleach first with about 20 volume developer and powder bleach 1/2 and 1/2 mixed with a brush. This is just put onto roots for half an hour and washed off ready for the toner which is what this review is on.

See below I mixed Richesse 9.01 Milk Shade Glace toner 50ml £8.78 and the L’oreal Richesse Diacolour Developer £10.99 for a litre bottle together. These can be bought at any local Sallys beauty stores. This is the consumer price. Much cheaper if you have a trade card. A 50p squirt of the toner and double that of the developer. I mixed to form a rich paste and quickly applied all over my head. Please note that your hair quickly turns a scary purple colour if your hair is bleached this is normal. Get it on the roots first and then rub into the ends using gloves. Do not take longer than 5 minutes to apply as this color really grabs onto blonde hair. Then you simply wash off.

Hair does feel quite dry after using this so use a really deep conditioner or treatment.

Then once you wash it out, voila you are left with a white, ashy blonde colour that is perfect for a dramatic look. You will have to do your roots quite often though with this colour as the contrast is very sharp.

I have had a lot of compliments using this hair toner and found it suits my green eyes and cool tones.

Can you see how the golden tones in my hair have turned silvery and whitish instead.

The colour really looked great at a show I did for a dramatic look with red lipstick.

Here is my hair just in the daytime with no make-up on. You can see it is a lovely white ‘Marilyn’ colour.
